The Nepal Government Railway (NGR) (Nepali: नेपाल गभर्मेन्ट रेलवे) was Nepal's first railway. Established in 1927 and closed in 1965, it linked Amlekhganj with Raxaul across the border in India in the south. The 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge railway was 47 km long.
