The German term Neubaulokomotive (German pronunciation: [ˈnɔʏbaʊlokomoˌtiːvə]) refers specifically to steam locomotives which were newly designed and built either for the Deutsche Bundesbahn in West Germany or the Deutsche Reichsbahn in East Germany after the Second World War.
