New Media Film Festival

The New Media Film Festival® (NMFF), established in 2009 by Susan Johnston, is an annual event held in Los Angeles that honors stories worth telling by embracing the fusion of storytelling and technology. The New Media Festival features multiple award categories covering 3D animated short films, web series, mobile media, apps and music videos, reflecting the diversity of contemporary content creation. With more than 100 films submitted from across the world annually, the festival aims to promote the integration and innovation of global media narratives, technology, and platforms through diverse award categories, reflecting the current state of content creation.

With a total prize fund exceeding US$45,000, New Media Film Festival focuses on supporting non-traditional narratives and emerging content creators. It was the first to include innovative media formats such as AI generated films, Touch Rotation, Holographic Digital Comic, and more into its award categories. Over the years, the NMFF has evolved to provide new opportunities and platforms for content creators using cutting-edge media formats.
