Oakville is a town and lower-tier municipality in Halton Region, Ontario, Canada. Generally seen as a commuter suburb of Toronto, it is located on Lake Ontario between Toronto and Hamilton. In the 2021 Canadian census the town had a population of 213,759, with an estimated 233,700 people as of 2024, making it Ontario's largest town. Oakville is part of the Greater Toronto Area, the largest urban area in Canada.
