Owais Ahmed Rana (born 10 July 1988) is an IAS officer from 2014 batch, holding the rank of 741 in the Jammu and Kashmir cadre. He serves as the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and CEO of Srinagar Smart City Ltd.
Previously he held the position of Deputy Commissioner / District Magistrate of Bandipore in North Kashmir region of J&K Union Territory and Deputy Commissioner / District Magistrate of Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir.
Before these roles, he served as the chief executive officer of Jammu & Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), Department of Science & Technology, working under Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally he has worked as managing director of the JK State Road Transport Corporation.
