Pahari (Poonchi)
Pahari (Urdu: پہاڑی) or Pahadi is a group of languages and dialects found in the lower Himalayan regions. It is widely spoken in the Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir, India and western region in Azad Kashmir and some parts of North eastern Pakistan. There are more than 10 western Pahari languages including Dogri and Kangra. It is also spoken across the state of Jammu and Kashmir with more concentration in northern region. In Poonch, India about half of the population speaks Pahari. it contains a mix of urdu, Pahari-Pothwari and some rare language of Northwest India and North-east Pakistan. [∆3]
