Pangasinan was a sovereign coastal pre-colonial Philippine polity (panarian) located at the coasts of Lingayen Gulf. South of Pangasinan was the kingdom of Caboloan (Luyag na Caboloan), located in the interior of Central Luzon, beside the Agno River basin.
