Penza Oblast (Russian: Пе́нзенская о́бласть, romanized: Pénzenskaya óblastʹ) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). Its administrative center is the city of Penza. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 1,266,348. It was formed in 1939 on the territory detached from neighboring Tambov Oblast.
