Petra Costa (born 8 July 1984) is a Brazilian filmmaker and actress. In 2020, her documentary film The Edge of Democracy was nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 92nd Academy Awards and won a Peabody Award. She has been a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since 2018.
