Petrovsky District (Russian: Петро́вский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-three in Tambov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,779 square kilometers (687 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Petrovskoye. Population: 19,074 (2010 Census); 23,374 (2002 Census); 28,190 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Petrovskoye accounts for 29.9% of the district's total population.
