Phoenissa (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Phoenissa was the daughter of Alphionis (the river-god Alpheus) and thus can be considered a naiad. She bore to Zeus, a beautiful son, Endymion. Otherwise, the latter's parents were called Aethlius (Aethnos) and Calyce.
