Phoenixes (French: Phénix) is a Quebec drama film directed and written by Jonathan Beaulieu-Cyr, starring Maxime Genois, Evelyne Brochu and Aksel Leblanc .
This is Jonathan Beaulieu-Cyr's first feature film as an individual, having co-directed the docu-drama Mad Dog Labine (2018) with Renaud Lessard.
The film had its world premiere at the Festival de Cinéma de la ville de Québec (FCVQ) on September 13, 2024, where it won a Special Mention from the Jury for Best First Fiction Feature .
Phénix won the Prix Gilles-Carle at Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma (RVQC) in February 2025, as well as the Best Director and Best Cinematography awards at the Whistler Film Festival in December 2024 .
The film will be released in Quebec on August 22, 2025 .
