The premier of Sarawak (Malay: Premier Sarawak) is the head of government of the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The premier leads the Government of Sarawak, the executive branch of the state government, and is appointed by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, the ceremonial governor of Sarawak. The premier is typically the leader of the political party or coalition that commands a majority in the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly.
This office was formerly known as the chief minister of Sarawak, until a constitutional amendment officially changed the title to premier. The amendment was passed on 15 February 2022. It was gazetted and came into effect on 1 March 2022.
Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg served as the sixth and last chief minister of Sarawak, having assumed office on 13 January 2017. He became the first and current premier of Sarawak upon the amendment's implementation on 1 March 2022.
