Red-White Coalition

The Red-White Coalition (Indonesian: Koalisi Merah Putih, often abbreviated as KMP) was a coalition of political parties in Indonesia that supported Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa in the 2014 Indonesian presidential election. The Red-White Coalition when it was first formed consisted of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), the National Mandate Party (PAN), the United Development Party (PPP), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKSk ), the Crescent Star Party (PBB) and the Party of the Functional Groups (Golkar). Although sometimes Democratic Party is included as one of the members of this coalition, sometimes the Democratic Party is considered more as a neutral party. In April 2015, the newly established party, namely the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) officially declared joining the Red-White Coalition. However, the Perindo Party decided to withdraw from the coalition membership in August 2017. Over time, the United Development Party, National Mandate Party and Golkar Party declared their withdrawal from the coalition membership, starting with the PPP in October 2014, followed by PAN in September 2015 and Golkar in January 2016. These four parties declared their support for the government and joined the Great Indonesia Coalition which later changed its name to the "Coalition of Cooperation of Government Supporting Parties (KP3)".
