On 5 August 2024, at around 3:00 p.m., Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country on a helicopter with her sister, Sheikh Rehana, to India, arriving in Delhi via Agartala. Although she intended to record a speech, she did not have the opportunity to do so.
