Richard Simon Darbyshire (born 8 March 1960) is an English singer, songwriter, producer, and songwriting coach, best known as the frontman for the 1980s synthpop group Living in a Box.
In 1985, Darbyshire became the vocalist/guitarist for the fledgling band, which included drummer, Anthony 'Tich' Critchlow, and keyboardist, Marcus Vere. The band named themselves after their first song, Living in a Box, which reached the top 20 in the US. Darbyshire split with the band in 1990 before their third album was completed.
