Richard W. Littlefield, Jr. (September 17, 1948 – April 27, 2012) was an American politician. He served as a Democratic member for the 6th district of the Georgia State Senate. He was the son of Richard Wells Littlefield, Sr. and Hazel Harper Littlefield. Originally named William Lindsey Littlefield before his parents decided to change his name, he was known by most as “Bill”. Bill spent his childhood and was raised in Jesup, Georgia. He later attended Emory University and the University of Georgia Law School.
Bill first married Lorraine Teresa Nelson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, whom he met while they were both students at Emory University. With Lorraine, he had two children, Stephanie Ann Littlefield and Richard Wells Littlefield III (“Wells”). Stephanie is a graduate of The University of the South — Sewanee. Wells is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and like his father, is also a lawyer.
