The Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, also known as SASTRA, is a private and deemed university in the town of Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. SASTRA gained the Deemed University status in 2001 by UGC. It offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses in Engineering, Science, Education, Management, Law and Arts.
Established in 1984, SASTRA is one of India's premier and prestigious institution which has gained a reputation for academic excellence, research, and industry collaboration. It is recognized as a Deemed-to-be University by the Government of India and holds a NAAC A++ accreditation, the highest possible grade. In 2011, SASTRA University set a world record by placing more than 1,700 students in Tata Consultancy Services on a single campus Interview which was a record for any single institution.
