Saugus Public Schools is the school district of Saugus, Massachusetts, United States.
On April 19, 2016, the School Committee of the district voted 4–1 to offer the position of superintendent to David DeRuosi, who previously was superintendent for Malden Public Schools; Liz Marchese was the sole committee member not in favor. He retired from his position at the end of the 2020–2021 school year. On May 4, 2021, the School Committee voted 4–0 to appoint Erin McMahon to succeed DeRuosi when his contract expired June 30, 2021. She was the district's first female superintendent. On November 2, 2023, the school committee unanimously voted to fire McMahon. Former Saugus High School Principal Michael Hashem served as acting superintendent while McMahon was on administrative leave, beginning in January 2023. The School Committee voted unanimously to offer the position to Hashem on a full time basis on Nov. 2, 2023.
