Semyon Aleksandrovich Chernetsky (born Solomon Isayevich Chernetsky; 23 October [O.S. 11 October] 1881 – 13 April 1950) was a Soviet military composer and conductor. He is credited as the founder of modern Russian military bands. He served as the Senior Director of the Central Military Band of the People's Commissariat of National Defense of the USSR from 1924 to 1950.
