Severny District (Russian: Се́верный райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-five in Orenburg Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,100 square kilometers (810 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Severnoye. Population: 15,012 (2010 Census); 18,511 (2002 Census); 20,799 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Severnoye accounts for 29.5% of the total district's population.
