Shakhovskoy District (Russian: Шаховско́й райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-six in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,218.88 square kilometers (470.61 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Shakhovskaya. Population: 25,372 (2010 Census); 23,061 (2002 Census); 23,783 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Shakhovskaya accounts for 42.3% of the district's total population.
