Sharyinsky District (Russian: Шарьи́нский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 4,070 square kilometers (1,570 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Sharya (which is not administratively a part of the district). Population: 7,522 (2021 Census); 10,390 (2010 Census); 12,851 (2002 Census); 16,458 (1989 Soviet census).
