Hypselis or Hypsela (Ancient Greek: Ύψηλή; Coptic: ϣⲱⲧⲡ), known to the ancient Egyptians as Shashotep, is an ancient Egyptian city and Roman bishopric, which was located near the modern town of Shutb (or ash-Shatb, Chutb) in the Asyut Governorate.
