The first season of 8 Simple Rules aired on ABC between September 17, 2002, and May 20, 2003, and consists of 28 episodes. Known on broadcast as 8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter Season One, On August 7, 2007, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released the complete first season on DVD on a 3-disc set as 8 Simple Rules, the shortened title the series was renamed on its third season due to the death pf John Ritter.
