Stendal (German pronunciation: [ˈʃtɛndaːl] ⓘ), officially the Hanseatic City of Stendal (German: Hansestadt Stendal), is a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is the capital of the Stendal District and the unofficial capital of the Altmark region.
