Sverdlovsky District (Russian: Свердло́вский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Oryol Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,061.4 square kilometers (409.8 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Zmiyovka. Population: 16,311 (2010 Census); 18,070 (2002 Census); 19,223 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Zmiyovka accounts for 36.6% of the district's total population.
