The Pink Panther is a 2006 American comedy-mystery film directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay by Len Blum and Steve Martin, and a story by Blum and Michael Saltzman. It serves as a reboot of The Pink Panther franchise, marking the tenth installment in the series. It is also the first Pink Panther film to be released since Son of the Pink Panther (1993). The film stars Martin in the main role and also co-stars Kevin Kline, Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, and Beyoncé Knowles. In the film, Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Martin) is assigned to solve the murder of a famous soccer coach and the theft of the famous Pink Panther diamond.

The Pink Panther premiered in Alpe d'Huez on January 19, 2006, and was released theatrically in United States and Canada on February 10, by Sony Pictures Releasing under the Columbia Pictures banner, with 20th Century Fox handling the international distribution. The film received mostly negative reviews, but was a commercial success, grossing $164.1 million worldwide against a $80 million budget. A sequel, The Pink Panther 2, was released in 2009.
