He played for the Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres and coached for the Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox, all in Major League Baseball. As a player, Steverson threw and batted right-handed, stood 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m) tall and weighed 194 pounds (88 kg).
