Tokushima (徳島市, Tokushima-shi, Japanese: [tokɯ̥ꜜɕima]) is the capital city of Tokushima Prefecture on Shikoku island in Japan. As of 1 September 2024, the city had an estimated population of 245,264 in 122,539 households and a population density of 1,280 persons per km². The total area of the city is 191.52 square kilometres (73.95 sq mi).
