Tymovsky District (Russian: Ты́мовский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia; one of the seventeen in the oblast. Municipally, it is incorporated as Tymovsky Urban Okrug. It is located in the center of the Island of Sakhalin. The area of the district is 6,312.7 square kilometers (2,437.3 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Tymovskoye. Population: 16,212 (2010 Census); 19,099 (2002 Census); 25,774 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Tymovskoye accounts for 48.5% of the district's total population.
