Uchanie [uˈxaɲɛ] is a village in Hrubieszów County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Uchanie. It lies approximately 20 km (12 mi) north-west of Hrubieszów and 84 km (52 mi) south-east of the regional capital Lublin.
Upon the German invasion of Poland in 1939, Uchanie had a population of 1,161 Jews. The Jewish population was sent to nearby Hrubieszów, from where they were sent to the Sobibór extermination camp. The Jewish community then ceased to exist.
According to the data of the ethnographic expedition of 1869-1870 under the leadership of Pavlo Chubynskyi, Greek Catholics who spoke Ukrainian lived in this village
Between the years of 1928-1932, the Polish government ordered the destruction of the local Orthodox church as part of a large-scale campaign to destroy Ukrainian churches in the Kholm region and Podlasie.
