Uttarakhand Helicopter Crash

The Uttarakhand Helicopter Crash was an aircraft crash that occurred on 15 June 2025. At around 5:20 am, a helicopter carrying 7 people, including the pilot as well as a 23-month-old and 10-year-old girl, traveling from Shri Kedarnath Dham to Guptkashi crashed near Gaurikund in the state of Uttarakhand, India, killing all on board and one individual on the ground. Officials said that the aircraft veered off course due to severe weather conditions. Nandan Singh Rajwar, a local disaster management official, immediately deployed rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local administration to the scene. Aryan Aviation operated the helicopter. At the time, this was the 5th such incident to occur along the Char Dham yatra route in the last six weeks in Uttarakhand.
