Vällingby (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈvɛ̂lːɪŋˌbyː] ⓘ) is a suburban district in Västerort, the western part of Stockholm Municipality, Sweden. It is notable for being one of the first modern planned suburbs in Sweden. Vällingby was inaugurated in 1954 as part of Stockholm's post-war decentralisation plans. The area is centred around Vällingby Centrum, one of Sweden’s first shopping centers.
