Vashkinsky District (Russian: Ва́шкинский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-six in Vologda Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast and borders with Vytegorsky District in the north, Kirillovsky District in the east, and with Belozersky District in the south and west. The area of the district is 2,900 square kilometers (1,100 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Lipin Bor. District's population: 8,089(2010 Census); 10,002 (2002 Census); 11,977(1989 Soviet census). The population of Lipin Bor accounts for 45.4% of the district's total population.
