Vigilantism

Vigilantism (/vɪdʒɪˈlæntɪzəm/) is the act of preventing, investigating, and punishing perceived offenses and crimes without legal authority.

A vigilante is a person who practices or partakes in vigilantism, or undertakes public safety and retributive justice without commission.
