Wallenried (French name: Esserts; Arpitan: Èssèrsâ [esəˈʃɑ] ⓘ) is a former municipality in the district of See in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It was one of the municipalities with a large minority of German speakers in a French speaking region.
