Yakov Modestovich Gakkel (Russian: Яков Модестович Гаккель; 30 April 1874 – 12 December 1945), a Soviet and Russian scientist and engineer, made significant contributions to the development of aircraft and locomotives in the Russian Empire and in the former Soviet Union.
