Yelansky District (Russian: Еланский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Yelansky Municipal District. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,672 square kilometers (1,032 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Yelan. Population: 33,064 (2010 Census); 36,212 (2002 Census); 36,293 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Yelan accounts for 44.9% of the district's total population.
