Ysabel J. Jurado is an American tenants' rights lawyer and politician who is the member of the Los Angeles City Council for the 14th district. Jurado ran for the Los Angeles City Council in 2024, challenging incumbent Kevin de León. After leading in the primary, she defeated de León in the runoff election, becoming the first person of Filipino descent elected to the City Council. Her victory was largely attributed to de León's role in the 2022 Los Angeles City Council scandal.
