Illinois was won by incumbent President Franklin D. Roosevelt (DNew York), running with Secretary Henry A. Wallace, with 50.97% of the popular vote, against Wendell Willkie (RNew York), running with Minority Leader Charles L. McNary, with 48.54% of the popular vote.
