The 1986 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented the Ohio State University as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 1986 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by eighth-year head coach Earle Bruce, the Buckeyes compiled an overall record of 10–3 with a mark of 7–1 in conference play, sharing the Big Ten title with Michigan. Ohio State was invited to the Cotton Bowl Classic, where the Buckeyes defeated Texas A&M Aggies. The team played home games at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
