The 2008 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represented the University of Minnesota as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by second-year head coach Tim Brewster, the Golden Gophers compiled an overall record of 7–6 with a mark of 3–5 in conference play, placing in a three-way tie for sixth in the Big Ten. Minnesota was invited to the Insight Bowl, where the Golden Gophers lost to Kansas. The team played home games at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis.

2008 was the Golden Gophers' final season at the Metrodome, as they moved to TCF Bank Stadium for the 2009 season.
