The 2025 Dunedin City Council election will take place between 9 September and 11 October 2025 by postal vote as part of nation-wide local elections.
The single transferable vote system will be used to elect the Mayor of Dunedin, city councillors, and community board members for the 2025–2028 term, whilst Oamaru Licensing Trust trustees will be elected using first past the post.
