In Switzerland, the 6-point grading scale is usually applied, where 1 represents the lowest possible grade, and 6 represents the highest possible grade.
- 6 (Excellent; best possible grade; exceptional performance, 95%)
- 5.5 (Very good, at least 90%)
- 5 (Good, at least 80%)
- 4.5 (Satisfactory, at least 75%)
- 4 (Sufficient, at least 65%)
- 3.5 (Insufficient, at least 55%)
- 3 (Poor, at least 45%)
- 2.5 and under (Very poor, 35% and below)
Grade averages between 5.5 and 6 are very hard to get. An average of 6 is nearly impossible.
