The Battle of Pensacola, or siege of Pensacola Bay, was a 15-month battle between the Confederate States of America troops occupying 2 forts on Pensacola Bay and the Union fleet under Harvey Brown. The Confederates retained control of the city for a short time afterwards, but Fort McRee and the Pensacola Navy Yard were destroyed.
