Captorhinus (from Greek: καπτō kaptō, 'to gulp down' and Greek: ῥῑνός rhīnós, 'nose') is an extinct genus of captorhinid reptiles that lived during the Permian period. Its remains are known from North America (Oklahoma, Texas) and possibly South America.
