Ecopetrol, formerly known as Empresa Colombiana de Petróleo S.A. (English: Colombian Petroleum Co.) is the largest and primary petroleum company in Colombia. In the 2020 Forbes Global 2000, Ecopetrol was ranked as the 313th -largest public company in the world. It was ranked 303 in 2012 by CNN Money.

The company is responsible for .71% of global carbon emissions which cause climate change, the 75th largest emitter of carbon as of 2023. The company has been embroiled in numerous controversies, including extensive oil pollution of hundreds of sites and waterways in Colombia, labor conflicts, and other environmental human rights violations.
