The Kyaukphyu Deep-Sea Port (Burmese: ကျောက်ဖြူ ရေနက်ဆိပ်ကမ်း) is an infrastructure project under development in Kyaukphyu, Rakhine State, Myanmar. It forms a component of the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and is part of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), specifically for the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC). The port is intended to provide China with direct access to the Indian Ocean, bypassing the Strait of Malacca. The project is led by a joint venture between the Chinese state-owned CITIC Group and the Myanmar government.
