Parotomys is a small genus of rodent in the family Muridae. Member species are found in the African countries of Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. It contains the following two species:
- Brants's whistling rat (Parotomys brantsii)
- Littledale's whistling rat (Parotomys littledalei)
